Eyes That Tell a Tale
Still and quiet
An old man sat in a corner;
And us all looked into his eyes
The man was blind
For he had seen so much wrong
he didn’t want to see no more
He was deaf
for he had heard of to much wrong
he didn’t want to hear no more
and he was done talking
talking to people who never listen
So with his eyes he told a tale
to them all who could read and understand
He told of the eagle
That with the extinction of it’s prey
It Will follow suit
Let you not be it
He told of the ant
that it alone cannot survive
but them all will always prosper
so learn from them
and the tale of a dove
holy and pure
it was blessed
to eat what it does not labor for
and so lets make it our destiny
With his eyes he told tales
tales of how brothers stood together
But now they slay each other
Tales of love
Which like a stream never stopped to flow
But now love was just an emotion
Like anger
So fast and strong to come
So fast and easy to fade away.
Let you all who can read
tell all others
To learn from the ancient
Ways of wisdom.
